I've been wondering this for a while- why are so many artists on Pixiv fond of deleting their work?
My best guesses would be…
1) For the really popular stuff or the ones that have been hidden unless you join the artist’s group - they might be peeved about their stuff being posted/edited without permission
2) They left the fandom
3) They don’t like their older work anymore
4) They’re cycling through their available artwork (I know Cassino does this on their personal website)
Sometimes I’m really surprised when I go back to check and see what’s been yanked off the site. Some really nice artwork has been pulled, and usually it’s available at larger resolutions on Pixiv then what Tumblr allows to boot. ;_;
